| The local area is very well served with both primary and secondary schools. 13 primary schools including church-related schools, both Protestant and Catholic, ensure that in the main parents are able to choose the type of school their children attend.
A new purpose built Primary School is currently under construction at Priors Green and is due to open in September 2012. Takeley Primary School is relocating to Priors Green and will occupy this new Primary School building and sports facilities. Secondary education in the area also provides a choice between single sex schools and co-educational schools of equal excellence. The Bishop’s Stortford High School for boys and the Hertfordshire and Essex High School for girls are single sex up to the fifth form and co-educational in the sixth. Public Schools Bishop’s Stortford is fortunate to host one of the most respected public schools in the country - Bishop’s Stortford College. The College caters for boys and girls age four to eighteen. |
